Thanks to Education First, 20 educators from all over Yamhill County and the west valley attended the first viewing in Oregon of the movie Beyond Measure. Schools/districts included: Chemeketa Community College, Dallas, Dayton, Delphian, Grand Ronde, North Marion, Newberg, and Yamhill-Carlton.  Newberg’s contingent included Joe Morelock, Tami Erion, Andy Debois, Cass Thonstadt, and Casey Petrie.

The successor to Most Likely to Succeed, the movie about the groundbreaking charter school High Tech High, Beyond Measure takes the needed and growing evolution of K-12 education from the example of High Tech High-type charter schools straight into the public school universe – around the U.S., at different sizes.  Education First provided the screening of Most Likely to Succeed at Newberg High School last year.

After this pre-screen of Beyond Measure, the attendees enjoyed a round-table reflection and discussion, sharing ideas about how to bring small bits and pieces of ideas, techniques, and practices into their classrooms – and committed to meeting routinely to collaborate and share.
