This is a big week for building the tiny home because the students are beginning to build the base of the tiny home. We have a group of students cutting plywood on the table saw to put into the floor joists. The floor joists are the main base to the tiny home structure. The sheets of plywood are cut to the exact length and checked to make sure they fit. Once fitted correctly, the plywood is now handed to another group of students. The plywood is painted to keep the water and moisture off the plywood so it doesn’t rot and become useless overtime. It’s important that we build the base of the tiny home to the right measurements because the the rest of the building relies on a sturdy base. Now we have to put another layer of R-11 insulation into the floor joists before we nail the top plywood on next week.
